There was a thing in The Inde.............@12/13/14-2. Silverjet down in value @80% and the need to get 65% bums on seats (thru to March08) to stay up.SYB will probably know the Inde link. So; don't think I'll be using them @ also think Michael O'Leary(as mentioned) will be seeing another slot time and route opening up.

Returning back to SilverJet.....for anyone relocating to Dubai it is perfect (vs economy in BA/Virgin/Emirates etc), the allowance is two suitcases of up to 32kgs and also you can bring golf clubs as well.
As for Luton......well the terminal is their own and even have showers and towels provided.
Arriving at Dubai is also pretty nice as you arrive at the VIP terminal, so no queuing, although I didn't see a duty free shop, so missed out on my allowance!

There is a duty free shop but its crap and sells tonnes of expensive goods.
The premium terminal is also crap, dull as hell. and they don't take e-gate, which means it takes 5 times a long to get out of the place.

Emirates business class has a 32kg allowance (& they are flexible on that). Same if you have a silver or gold Skywards card.
I have looked at Silverjet v Emirates. return flight Emirates GBP 1,200 inc cars, whereas Silverjet started at around GBP 950 with no car and no chance of altering return flight date. If you want any flexibility with Silverjet they are pricier than Emirates.

I have never, ever seen an Emirates Biz flight for 1,200. Cheapest I usually find is 1,750

Also if you click 'schedule' instead of 'get price'-comes up a bit cheaper too-so long as its not day before stuff.

Doesn't that usually mean 777-200 eg - crappy 'old style' biz class seats.
Thats the one thing I hate about Emirates, you never know what seat you'll get. Last time I flew biz class with them they switched planes so my careful plan of booking the 777-200ER (new plane with the new flat(ish) bed seat) went to shit and I didn't get any sleep on the flight back.
It's appalling the way they charge the same price for two totally different products

how does that work?
As a Skywards gold bloke, I was upgraded twice to First on the A330 and the standard was below business on a new 777-200LR...

It's basically because they work their planes so hard (they really do flog them) that they are loathe to take their older planes out of service for a few weeks to refit.
So basically the newer ones are the only ones which have the new kit. Rolling out refits is taking a hell of a long time.
I just think they need to stop charging the same price for two totally different products

I suppose it is hard to predict which plane will be doing which flight too far ahead as arrivals get delayed and aircraft need maintenance etc. so charging more for a ticket on a newer machine is not really practical.

I know there are practical reasons for doing it, but it doesn't mean it is fair.
But paying Dh15,000 or so for a product which in today's market is slightly above premium economy is not on.
