Default The ACS and RPL forms

Hi All,

has anyone here completed an RPL form by the ACS, which was successful?

As I will be doing this very soon, and just wanted some pointers and advice.

Any info from anyone would be much appreciated, please PM me..

Hello

I have recently (3 months ago) was succesful with the process with ACS
and the RPL. My only piece of advice is to list EVERYTHING in the
form. I mean everything even if you think that what you are putting
down is irrelevent with your current role/position. Once you have done
this get several people to proof read your work, let them be critical
and most of all 'Best of luck'

Hi Martin,

Thanks for your message, the section which is daunting me the most is section 2 CBOK questioning, as I am not sure the best way to go about completing this form and also feel that I am not able to select many of the topics within this section.

Hi Hak,

You might want to drop us an email about this - I have a recollection that you were starting to do this about two years ago - unfortunately ACS is quite aware of plagiarism issues so it's best not to work off others' examples if you can help it.

Cheers,

George,
Surely agents provide samples to help clients with an example of the type of content to include in the RPL? That's all I used rplhelp for, to give me an idea of what the ACS expect to see in a complete application, not to copy the thing word for word, surely only a fool would do that? And at 20 quid I'm sure its far cheaper than using an agent!

Hi Ady,

Depends on the agent I guess :-)

I don't know what other agents do but we stopped using samples some time ago and for RPL, CDR, and other self-documentation exercises we provide a short outline of what's required and the relevant target content (eg the CBOK) instead. That way we can be sure there's no conscious or unconscious plagiarism. Obviously our clients don't want to take that risk - if the allegation of plagiarism is made you'd find it hard to ever migrate to Australia.

Unfortunately there are a lot of fools applying for migration using straight out models. One very sad/amusing example involved a migration agent debarred after lodging identical refugee claims based on a series of standard claims. See http://www.themara.com.au/Online/SAV...pha&DeptID=139 and if you think that's an isolated case, see http://www.themara.com.au/ArticleDoc...02232-2238.pdf for another.

Also, as was pointed out here recently when the rplhelp website came up, there are some pathetic models out there, such as some very sus Russian models.

As responsible agents we're in constant contact with the ACS and IEAust and we try to work with them to understand their requirements and adapt them to new situations. We have had discussions with both agencies over the content of their new MODL responsibilities, for example.

Finally, I'm sure that we're the only Australian migration agency using an IT professional who's also a migration agent as a guide with RPL cases.

Cheers,

George Lombard

Not if it doen't go through first time. Depends how straightforward your case is and how bright you are at interpreting the requirements.

You pays your money and takes your choice. £20 get you a £20 service. more gets you more if you spend it with the right people.

I totally agree. I was successful last summer (ACS/RPL) and although I am also only half way through it's well worth the money.
