I've not been but I've got quite a few friends that are natively born and bred...not exactly lacking for salaries either and none of them liked the place....3 have moved back to Texas mind, just not Houston.

I'd send my mother-in-law there, and I'd live there over some other places simply because I have friends and family there and I know the place. BUT... I would be a whinging Austin ex-pat in Houston.
