I don't know if this will interest you, but I did a freedom of information request to DIAC in September to enquire as to how many P5 applicants there were from the 1st July 2007 to (that) date. They gave us the information from March 2006 (which I assume is their oldest case). I uploaded a spreadsheet with the data on this post.

From looking at beupdate it looks like the average time for my type of visa is 6-12 months. Well it's progress....
