I know that feeling well. I hope they release something concrete soon.

I don't know if this will interest you, but I did a freedom of information request to DIAC in September to enquire as to how many P5 applicants there were from the 1st July 2007 to (that) date. They gave us the information from March 2006 (which I assume is their oldest case). I uploaded a spreadsheet with the data on this post.

Spreadsheet looks great thanks, I'll digest for a while.

So they are currently processing category 5 applications that were lodged in September 2007?

We got assigned a CO today, finally!
Does anyone know what the typical waiting time is once you have a CO assigned?

Excellent news! I'm glad to hear it. As for the waiting time, it's still pretty much a 'how long's a piece of string?' question. It really depends on many things. Still, it's forward momentum. I hope it's all processed quickly for you.

Yep I thought you'd say that
From looking at beupdate it looks like the average time for my type of visa is 6-12 months. Well it's progress....
