Hi Jane ray,
Sorry to hear the problems you are experiancing with the sale of your property.
May I be brave enough to ask why you are returning to the UK.

Must also state that although I have not put many posts on this forum I have noticed how `touchy` many of the readers are and reply with such aggression.
I posted a question regarding raising a query with my agent. I wasnt criticising them, or expecting `special` attention. All I was worried about was how long they take to `edit` and as we have a 16 year old on our application, whom constantly states `this takes to long is it worth it`, we want to ensure our apllication was in the hands of those nice people at Adelaide.

However i didnt realize that by postiong something negative I was throwing myself to the lions! The amount of `typed abuse ` I got was unreal.
To those that read, please note. Any comments or questions I raise are for a purpose. For feedback from you guys, not to be attacked

...I hear you!!! Some regulars on this forum are REALLY sensitive and always on the defensive - almost as if our question might somehow damage their reality. People shouldn't always need positive reassurance from others to help justify their decisions.

Hi Argonaut,

Weren't you after "positive reassurance" in your very first post, when you were asking for justification for not moving to Oz with your wife?

Another thing that gets me annoyed about this forum is the sheer nastiness of some of the posters. We're all just trying to get along the best we can and there's no need for any vitriol.

...Hi Jane! Yep - that was me. Many issues to resolve before I can make a decison one way or the other - it's not quite as simple as some were making out.

We've just sold a property in Greater London - Estate Agent's commission was 1.5% of sale price. I even found that expensive as they sold our place in 48hrs - didn't even have to advertise it.
Can't believe the cost in Oz!. 3-4%!

Stamp duty in the UK (on purchase price) is 1% up to £250,000; 3% up to £500,000. No SD on a mortgage!! - what a bunch of highway robbers the Ozzy authorities are!!

Best of luck in your move back to the UK. The summers are hotter and winters milder - thanks to global warming!!

Try this for highway robbery!!! In Calgary, Canada. 7% of the 1st $100,00 and 3% on the balance. If we sell our property for $250,000.00 then we are expected to pay $11,500.00!!!

Oh, lots of different reason but maily because our daughter is not settled. The boredom for me. The education system. The difficulty in finding 'normal' part time employment. Missing family and friends. The list is endless. If you go back a few threads (about Sep time) I posted about our return to the UK.

I hope it works ok for you and your family
