Hi Guys,
I will be staying in central auckland for my Holidays, whats the best and cheapest place to buy good whiskey? Any off licences in CBD ?

You can get duty free on the way in at the airport......
Don't know many shops in the CBD.
Our French friend should be able to help as he works in that manor......

Didn't know whether to move this to the Kiwi Bar - but thought the Sheep Dip as good a place as any!

Hi Imz, might be best to change your tipple......my husband used to drink only malts,preferably ones from Islay, back in Scotland but finds them very expensive here. Best to get some duty free if possible. I believe you can order on line for it to be waiting at your final destination.

Hi Folks

HA HA thanks for all the tips .I will defo buy my whiskey at auckland aiport duty free. Just a few questionas There are four of us travelling how many bottles of whiskey can we buy each?

Also if i don't finish all of the bottles in auckland can i take a few with me on a domestic flight from Auckland to wellington?

4.5 litres of Wine, port, Sherry, Champagne (six bottles) or beer (12 cans).
200 cigarettes or 250 gms of tobacco or 50 cigars
NZ $700 of other goods purchased Duty Free or overseas.
