I suppose your friends were sold "preferentes", a specific type of shares where the bank is supposed to pay a % of yield provided it is in good financial shape but not if it is going through...

I have been working for 4 years in Belgium.

My view is that if you do not speak Flemish you will have more chances to find a job in Brussels than in Leuven and it is less than 30 mins commuting...

I will most probably fly in about 10 days to make some visits and take a decision. My main worry is that in 30 mins seeing a house is hard to point out hidden defects....
