I rented a car recently from LAX and it had Nevada plates. Curious. Maybe it's something to do with the silly CA sales tax - the rental company perhaps buys them all out of state.

I've used Carhire3000.com to do a one way rental from Washington DC to South Carolina. There was a $250 one way fee, payable at the rental place (National) when we picked the car up. (We knew about...
