I...

Re: $42 billion Stimulus Package

To be fair, Government's do not save our taxes paid now for our consumption in the future, they use current revenues (current tax) to fund current liabilities (health, pensions etc.). The baby...

Re: $42 billion Stimulus Package

Re: $42 billion Stimulus Package

Re: $42 billion Stimulus Package

There are mixed views on how this "stimulus" should be created. One off hits (like in December) cause one off increase in spending. Tax cuts provide longer term stimulus but are more difficult to...

Re: $42 billion Stimulus Package

Re: $42 billion Stimulus Package

With 2 years to go to the election I don't think this has much to do with vote buying. If Kevin "saves us" few will remember or care (or perhaps notice).

Instead I think he really is trying to...

Re: $42 billion Stimulus Package

So a family with 2 kids and one income of $150,000 get nothing and pay $43,250 annually in tax.

A family of 2 income earners on $75,000 each with 2 kids will get $950 each person and $950 each...

Re: $42 billion Stimulus Package

It looks like the 457 visa will not prevent you getting the payment for those earning under $100,000. However, as a 457 visa holder you are not eligible for Family Tax Benefit (if I remember...

Re: $42 billion Stimulus Package

With respect, I don't believe any of that to be true. The Government ahs not announced any distinction (to the best of my knowledge) between people on different visa types nor or their intended...
