Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

Maybe that comes under ‘health care settings’? I’d email the lawyers and ask them, that’s what your employer is paying them for after all!

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

It's doable, but it is only required for certain professions or for those from certain countries - see the link given above. Presumably you come under one of those?

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

I'd assume no medical required then - but do double check on the link I gave above.

Good luck.

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

It depends on the job - if the TWP is to work with children, or in healthcare, etc, then yes you do need a medical. But not needed for anything else (assuming you're coming from the UK or another...

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

And worth noting that if you don't apply for your spousal open work permit ahead of moving, you'll need to apply for authorisation to travel, as without it you're not able to enter Canada.

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

Yes, 360 is too low, but take it again as if you've been working there for a year or two and then see what you get.

There's not a lot for you to do other than wait for the LMIA tbh. You don't...

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

OK, perfect. So that means you're eligible to enter the Express Entry 'pool' of applicants, but that's only the first step. Once you're in the pool only those scoring the highest are selected and...

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

You can apply anytime if eligible, there’s no requirement to have been in Canada first, lots apply from their home country without even having set foot in Canada.

You’ll need one for a PR...

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

Whoever told you that was misinformed I'm afraid. There's no automatic route to PR after a year, you need to qualify wherever you apply from. But the link above will help, and then once you've...

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

Ah, ok. If you think you might like to stay permanently I'd suggest you look at it, would be awful to move, spend a small fortune on it, and then not be able to stay. So check you're likely to be...

Re: LMIA processing times Jan 2021

LMIA's normally. Work permit is about 8-10 weeks as a rough guide, may be quicker at the moment though as so few people are applying for them.

Good luck.
