Re: TWP long haul truckers

No, because to qualify for CEC you need a year of full-time skilled work experience - therefore a truck driver wouldn't qualify.

Determine your eligibility – Canadian Experience Class...

Re: TWP long haul truckers

Exactly right. Because truck driver isn't a 'skilled' job, you can't get PR under any of the Federal programs such as FSW or CEC, so you can only get PR in a province that allows it under their PNP....

Re: TWP long haul truckers

No idea, a quick Google for 'Manitoba PNP' brought the website straight up as the first result for me?? Immigrate to Manitoba, Canada | Official government website of the MPNP...

Re: TWP long haul truckers

You shouldn't be able to, as the job's not skilled, but hey! That still gives at least 9 months of the spouse not being able to work anyway, so they'd need to be able to make sure they can survive...

Re: TWP long haul truckers

The cost of living will be around the same as in the UK as a rough guide, so if you can easily survive on the UK equivalent of that (around £1900), then you should be fine (unless you've got 8...

Re: TWP long haul truckers

I think you're getting confused (or maybe just using the wrong wording). 'Proof of Funds' is a specific amount that CIC want to see when applying for PR, but that's not mentioned anywhere in...

Re: TWP long haul truckers

It might be better to wait to sell your house until you have PR - on a TWP you're tied to that employer, and we've seen many people on the forum be made redundant whilst on a TWP and have to return...

Re: TWP long haul truckers

Proof of funds is only needed for PR apps, not TWP's. You'll still need about the amount CIC suggest as their proof of funds though just to get set up in Canada, so use that as a guide anyway.

As...

Re: TWP long haul truckers

Yes. You can look at the Wiki for info on applying via either method, but basically it's the same thing. Slightly more risk if you apply at POE I guess, but then you save yourself 8-10 weeks of...

Re: TWP long haul truckers

You'd have to apply for your TWP before your LMO expires. Most apply for their TWP's at POE, but if you're worried about it you can apply via London, that takes around 8-10 weeks.

As for the...
