Just to add, if they look at my expenditure pattern, Lloyds Bank would see that I used my debit card in Tesco, M&S etc almost every day, May through August..

I opened my IoM account about a decade ago, so I opened it as a U.S. Resident with only a U.S. address. My "relationship manager" or whatever he's called knows all...

I believe you need to maintain a balance of 2,500 pounds at Lloyds Bank, IoM, sterling current account, in order to avoid a monthly fee. Lloyds is just an example, there are a few other banks there...
