I really like Macallan too, but the past few bottles I've been gifted were the various 'finished' expressions. They are really quite nice for a sip or two only, then for me, the finish becomes...

Nice choices, all. I do like Dalwhinnie especially. I'm in Germany just now, nowhere near Munich though otherwise I'd be round there in a shot to help you get rid of your surplus!!!

At the risk of being hung for treason, I'm going to recommend that everyone tries Yamazaki 12 year old from Japan. Absolutely wonderful stuff.

I live just 4 miles from the St. George's Distillery...

As I said earlier tonight, my favourite is Old Pulteney 12 which typically costs GBP 24-30 in the UK.

Love the slight salty tang; the slightest hint of smoke without peat. Great stuff. I usually...
