I get both of your thoughts on this topic, yes it is up to us as the pet owners to make the final call and be happy with the final paperwork.

I don't know so much my cats crate was way bigger than he needed and the airline (Virgin Atlantic) even said to me if you can afford to get it a little bigger its worth it for the pets comfort...plus...

Call the airline who you are flying with they will tell you which ones are acceptable and which not, plus where to buy them ;)

All animals are given water on arrival into all UK airports and then again at the respection centers, as for the flight I cannot comment, but I do know my ex BF is a captain and we often talked about...

Yes correct but the paperwork is easy if you read the defra web-site and give them a call.
The crate will depend on the airline VA had specific brands that had to be used my kitty had a larger size...

I think you should call the POA in England where you are docking, most of the POA's can scan over 100 micro-chip codes and the old 9 digit ones are not a problem in the UK, I know this by calling...

My kitty did not have a passport but all in all a round trip cost me about $3,000 :eek: but I love him.....I do know the microchip has to be recorded in the pet passport or on a cert they are looking...

3. No you do not go back in 21 days for the blood test there is no test for the USA...As of the 21 days the pet can travel to the UK but you have to go to the vet and get a passport/vet cert valid...
