The economy basically consists of a bunch of people who pass money around to each other. When we pass it around at a decent clip (but not to excess), then times are good and we keep each other...

That's a fair point, and one that I hadn't considered. Without defining what a "citizen" is, this could be quite unfair.

Time zones are a matter of international treaty, and countries can choose what they want to do. It's not as if Britain has some sort of copyright on GMT that can be used to prevent others from using...
