Re: Saturday, 2 July - note it in your diaries

We operate a system of patronage for...

Re: Saturday, 2 July - note it in your diaries

I'm not really saying it's unfair - more that if they are going to do do it, do it right and cover everything in one go. Make the CFMEU the showpiece first case by all means, but let's not make it a...

Re: Saturday, 2 July - note it in your diaries

I agree that the CFMEU is no shining light of social brilliance, but do you not think that instead of targeting one particular industry, it would be much better to construct the means to investigate...

Re: Saturday, 2 July - note it in your diaries

No, this isn't correct - and represents the failure of democracy in the two party system. The person that is elected represents the views of their party first, and then if they are lucky, are given a...

Re: Saturday, 2 July - note it in your diaries

The opportunities for mischief are huge here for the Senate. Nothing to prevent the Senate from adding a Federal ICAC amendment to this ABCC bill. That would provide a huge wedge for the government -...

Re: Saturday, 2 July - note it in your diaries

I have to agree with this - I don't see any problems with re-invoking the ABCC - of course it now just needs the ALP to pass it and Turnbull loses his DD trigger - which would mean not cleaning out...

Re: Saturday, 2 July - note it in your diaries

Oh joy.

Don't forget there is a legal challenge to the voting changes in play - The HC has yet to rule on the constitutional nature of the changes.
