"Necessary" is debatable. However, the point of the thread was to identify nice parts of Oakville, not the one in which the poorer or more unlucky immigrants wind up living.

I don't think it's common for towns to be built on farmland, especially not in Ontario. Generally they were built on land not suitable...

There's a play area, a barn thing with rustic reenactments, maple syrup making, that sort of thing. It's a nice enough place but it's essentially a suburban park, whereas Gatineau is a wilderness...

Bronte Creek is the site of the annual British Car Day, loads of vehicles park there as it`s more field than wilderness.

I did that. Beach to Guelph. Yes, awful. Look at Streetsville, it's old enough to be an actual place, not just 'burb, same for Port Credit.

South of QEW very nice indeed. North of QEW nice, fading to tract housing as you go north.
