Thanks, that's really good to know. We have briefly thought about the Okanangan, I can't remember why we didn't short list is now, but I'll do some more research :)

Thanks Phaedru that's really good to know. Yes, somewhere with nice scenary would be nice, but PG is surrounded by lots of forest isn't it? I don't mind flat if there's forest.

The problem with the greenhouses etc is that they could pop up everywhere, but you can only go with what you know and can find out at the time. I wouldn't intentionally want...

Nope, I was thinking of an autogyro. It would present the problem if needing to clear a landing strip though. Decisions, decisions.

We've lived in some very remote places, and I'm never sure whether I feel safer being isolated, or with neighbours, different reasons for both...

Actually, now that I've said that, we definitely do not want to be near any weed greenhouses, thanks I'd forgotten about checking for those!

Thanks Scilly, yes the university in PG sparked our interest, we did consider PG prior to moving to NS too.

Re smells, that doesn't bother me in the slightest, one of my first jobs was inspecting...

Oh really? What's bad about it if you don't mind me asking? We've only visited briefly but it seemed OK at the time. Its very hard to tell from brief visits and google.
