Re: Watching the Cricket?

7 wicket victory. All too easy in the end once we restricted the black caps to 64 from the last ten. Not forgetting Jason Roys fabulous smash.

Bring on the Windies or the Indians in the final....

Re: Watching the Cricket?

McCullum retiring, really??? He's a swing and a miss player. You contrast him to a Warner or a Gayle or a Williamson and they go for the shots when they're there. You never see them try to smack...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

A bit of English optimism seems to work.

Arguably the two best batsman in the game face each other. Both batting for Yorkshire this season.

That's unless Afghanistan pull of a shock v the...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Bangladesh have overtaken South Africa in the greatest choking moment ever.

I thought nothing would be as bad as Alan Donalds run out but that beats it.

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Now that is how you chase down a huge score.

I'd have way more love for Joe Root if he supported a different football team.

That makes the Afghanistan and Sri Lanka games more interesting now....

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Chris Gayle on fire is by far the best T20 batsman the game has seen. I think his 100 included a few more sixes that overtakes Brendon McCullum as the highest six hitter. Minutes silence for the...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

So Bangladesh and Afghanistan qualify for the world T20.

England warming up nicely with a good win over the Kiwis. Good to see Rashid get some wickets after his time South Africa and also Alex...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

What a fantastic day in Johannesburg

World number one test team getting a thrashing. Unbelievable bowling by Stuart Broad.

2-0 series win on their own backyard. That's the Aussies and the...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

A fitting end to what has been an excellent ashes series.

The result is right, three tests England were magnificent. Bowled exceptionally, fielded well and got the runs. Stuart Broad and Joe Root...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Yeah but that was expected Blade. After all Wayne Barnes refereed that game. We'll still be hearing about his performance and this loss in 2048

But back onto the cricket - it's great to have the...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Michael Clarke accepted that they were on the end of a hiding. Even Darren Lehmann admitted they were outclassed and were not expecting that sort of performance from England. I don't think they were...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

There should be an announcement on that soon. I think there's going to be 3 tests and 3 ODIs in the month of February. Pakistan are coming in January for three tests (rumoured to be played at...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Just want to say thank you to both countries for what has been an enjoyable series of one day matches.

It is a shame that there had to be a winner. Neither side deserved to lose. Both are a credit...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

I hope he does

If we go all out attack on him, we'll score runs. We smashed him all over the place in the first test. He may get line and length sometimes but that's it. Mediocre batting rather...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Finally, the Rashid that every Yorkshire folk know turns up for England

Very good win. I'm surprised they were put into bat first by McCullum considering the wicket was perfect for batting....

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Harsh on the bowling side of things bar the 4th day. Had we taken our catches, their 2nd innings would have been a lot lower. The attack was excellent in NZs second innings of the first test.

The...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Superb bowling from England today. I applaud Stuart Broad in this as I've been one fierce critic of his over the past year.

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Well played Canterburys Ben Stokes, some class batting from himself, Captain Cook and Joe Root

Get a lead of around 380 to 400 by lunch and then bowl them out. Be an exciting final days play...

Thank goodness for Joe Root and Ben Stokes this morning. I stayed up to watch the play till lunch and was shocked to see Yorkshire failings. Thought Lyth and Ballance would do well on that pitch

Alistair Cook and Johnathan Trotts figures against bang average bowling

Re: Watching the Cricket?

The on-floor fielding from South Africa was superb. It seemed like they were all taught by Jonty Rhodes. The amount of boundaries they stopped was excellent.

Lady luck on the batting wasn't on...

Re: Watching the Cricket?

Duminy cost South Africa the game. Had he left that catch to his team mate, Elliott is out - and highly unlikely Southee and Vettori would have seen them over. It would have been a complete choke had...
