Re: Do you live near a wind farm? Would you?

Aerofoils, well they have been around since Leornado at least, and an awful of of development has been done over the last 100 years.

Re: Do you live near a wind farm? Would you?

If we are talking about wind, no. It is a mature technology.

Cold Fusion, well yes.

PV, there are tweaks and manufacturing improvements reducing costs.

Re: Do you live near a wind farm? Would you?

Re: Do you live near a wind farm? Would you?

There are three types, if you mean harnessing geothermal activity underneath your house then it would depend on your particular location. I have the map for Colorado, there is no activity near me.

Re: Do you live near a wind farm? Would you?

I think I could talk for an hour on this, so just some headline points:

There are some things you can do which have a very quick payback, others are much harder. The low hanging fruit includes...

Re: Do you live near a wind farm? Would you?

If you rely on wind, what do you do when the wind does not blow?

If you rely on PV what do you do when the sun does not shine?

Re: Do you live near a wind farm? Would you?

This was long term comparison. I remember reading a report that suggested a Hummer was Greener than a Prius.

But the Scottish cases with the released CO2 from Peat it is not even close.

With...

Re: Do you live near a wind farm? Would you?

Collecting?

I would be hard pushed.

There is a lot of embedded energy in their production, transportation and erection.

In Scotland the biggest CO2 factor is the release of CO2 from peat...
