re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

Wink re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

Fee for service is an imperfect system as it is. It incentivizes fast care over proper care, because the government cuts costs of various consultations, so often seeing patients with complex...

re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

We moved for the same reasons for my husband, not seeing much of the children, increasing workload and stress etc.

But we've also achieved what we wanted when we set out here, an adventure,...

re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

Family Physicians usually qualify for the 10 day processing LMIA unless that has changed recently. It's surprising that PNP is now your only way to get PR...

As Family Physicians are self...

re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

But Healthmatch BC recruiting for doctors to go to Vancouver? I'd bet they're recruiting for very rural BC with a minimum requirement of how long they live there...

re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

All I meant was that in all of Canada, GP's and other foreign doctors are more likely to head to these areas, as well as their home grown recruits. Yes, all you hear is how short of doctors they...

re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

Well think about it, there's probably two places in Canada where Family Physicians are not in short supply and that's Toronto and Vancouver. In Ontario the government have stopped Family Health...

re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

No assistance here. Ontario is popular enough with immigrant doctors that they don't need to incentivize. Alberta was at the time but probably no more now..

I know when we arrived, my husband was...

re: Chat for and with Canadian Family Practitioners/ex UK General Practitioners

The trouble with Ontario is that even though they are short of Family Physicians, it's also a pretty popular province to immigrate to so there isn't real incentive to make it easier for physicians to...
