Re: IEC 2014

Hey all, I just thought I'd pop by and post my experiences so far (if anyone is interested! hopefully they'll be helpful to people). Amazingly I've been here for nearly a month already, time really...

Re: IEC 2014

It was about £491. That covers me for skiing (14 days non consecutive), work, and excess waiver. I'm not covered for valuables but my work has better cover for that anyway.

Re: IEC 2014

Thanks folks.

Former Lancastrian, my LOI doesn't specify that. Just has a date when my opportunity to to start the IEC expires.

Beckiwoo, I didn't ask about the Visa expiry date as proof nor...

Re: IEC 2014

Right, one day the questions will stop.

I nearly came to buy insurance from ACE. The person there has just told me they don't cover one way flights, unless you have proof that you have to return...

Re: IEC 2014

Hi Gavita, please don't quote me for sure, but usually, single is one trip (for shorter holidays), annual is usually multi trip (so let's say you were going to one country for a fortnight, then...

Re: IEC 2014

Hi Cbrown89, I'm going to do a couple of weeks travelling around the Atlantic provinces, then I'll head to Toronto for a few months (I'm tempted with Ottawa but I have family close by to Toronto),...

Re: IEC 2014

Vulcanoid, with respect to Beckiwoo, in my case, she was correct. Please see my comment. Because I essentially work for myself, I won't have a 'commitment' to get home, so I'm not covered.

Re: IEC 2014

I did call them the other day to clarify about what you said earlier on in the thread (one way flights). I doubt I'll qualify for Alpha's insurance. The evidence of work commitments would allow one...

Re: IEC 2014

That's interesting, they never mentioned that to me. I'll have to call them back, if indeed this is the right type of insurance I should be getting!

Re: IEC 2014

Sorry to confuse things further. Are you guys buying this travel insurance as coverage to fulfil the IEC requirements?

I've read about that a private health care plan is required. Which isn't...

Re: IEC 2014

Beckiwoo I've come across this too... as it's pretty much impossible to get a return ticket in a year's time I'm not sure how to get round that.

I'm looking at Alpha and ACE. Alpha is half the...

Re: What insurance are IEC permit holders on?

I'm in exactly the same position. There's so many options and the prices are pretty crazy.

Going on various recommendations I'm looking at ACE travel insurance. For twelve months, on the Budget...

Re: IEC 2014

Hey, I'm sorry if this has been posted already - can I just confirm one way tickets are ok when arriving on an IEC? I was under the impression that you had to prove you were leaving by a particular...
