Not that I think that 31 is old (I'm 35 lol), but you are too old for 417 or 476.

Without employer sponsorship via a 457, your only option is to apply for permanent residency.

You might be thinking of working holiday visas? Young people <31 can get a visa that allows them to come over to Australia and start work (ostensibly to fund their holidays).

As Dorothy said, without the company willing to sponsor you there is not a lot of hope for a temporary visa.

The other temporary visas have severe restrictions that would most likely not fit into...

Has the hiring company not raised the issue of visas with you? Are they willing to sponsor you to come over or are you required to sort that out yourself?

I'm surprised if you would get a PR visa...

I'm sure there are plenty of families that survive on $65k, but I wouldn't move my family halfway around the world for that.
