Just updating my situation. I brought my car in UK on belgian plates and shipped it down to Spain. For me to import it in it will take 2 weeks and the cost is 1400 euros providing it passes it mot...

I wouldn't bring a new car down here again. I had an MX5 in mint condition and I had some idiot back into it, then later my roof got slashed, my window broken so decided that it wasn't worth it.

Well it has got to be done, it's got to be cheaper than transporting it back to UK every year for Mot and Tax and then back again. When I've done it will let you know. I'm off again to UK so will...

Okay, what importation would I pay on a 2500 pound 4x4. I only wanted a run around, I have a car in Uk as well which I use when I'm there. Maybe I should take up to Belgium and get it taxed, insured...

I brought the car in UK on Belgian plates it hadn't been registered in UK. They told me that it would cost approx 200 quid to change it and register it and it wasn't worth it if I was...

I came down on my insurance with Norwich Union, I hadn't planned on staying at that point. I wrote my car off in the first 3 months....and they paid for the gura fees, plus getting it back to UK and...

Pity they don't just have a central computer in Europe and you just pay one tax, mot etc and are free to roam and just pop in to a local centre when it runs out whichever country you are in at time....
