oh i see. i get the reaction here now. it's because i said "american" rather than "western ex-pat." i think he meant both but used the term american since that's what i am.

I'm an American and my friend who lives in the ME but not UAE tells me this about the UAE employers:

1) they really want to hire Americans, because Americans are not Arabs - he says they trust...
