Yes, from all I understand from friends & relatives who have needed settlement visas in the past, until one actually has the spouse visa AND has had said visa stamped on entry to the UK, one must pay...

I believe the above refers to the visa status WHILE a settlement visa has been applied for but not yet granted. Anyone in the UK on less than a settlement visa can be charged for non-emergency NHS...

Are you certain about this, Chris? I don't think this used to be true....

What about someone on a spouse/family visa, for instance, who has come to settle in the UK with his/her British spouse....
