The problem with the timeline is there is going to be a general election in the middle of it. Parliamentary sovereignty means those promises are close to useless.

Besides Labour would never agree...

If they're smart (ha, politicians smart?) they will still deliver on their promises AND do something for the rest of the union too. By doing so, the likelihood of a further referendum would diminish...

As arbitrary as the eligibility criteria is as you suggest, the claim is that 97% of those eligible have registered. If you can't accept that as a representative enfranchisement tough.

I read the other day they are claiming 97% of eligible voters have registered to vote for a total of around 4.2 million.

Perhaps the "yes" camp are secretly hoping "no" wins. I mean why bother wasting all that time and money planning out all the fiddly bits if the vote goes "no", you'd have done all that planning for...

The bonds would have to be in GBP otherwise no institutional investor would buy them. Or as you say, only the UK would be stupid enough to buy them.

I thought most Americans just think Edin-burrow is a just outside London, so go to see the Tower of London and fit in a day trip to Stonehenge and any other places nearby.
