But that advice would be voided if you were to qualify for citizenship ..... which in some countries might require you to actually give up your British citizenship.

No, they would fall into the group between "a lot" (of people who are lazy) and "everyone" (who is unable to work).

Rather than ask people to counter your phantom concerns, please describe what you, or your friend, thinks is wrong with the health care and social support system in the UK, then people can provide...

You might not be comparing like for like - the cost of living, especially in Scanadanivia is very high, so a large benefit payment might not go as far as you, or your "friend", think.
