I dare say there will be a decent amount of volatility in this market for some years to come so expect wild swings to be the norm.....

Although, I'm more concerned with it just staying around $2.45-$2.55 on an ongoing basis as I'll continue to earn in £££ for a number of years once in Oz.

I wouldn't have believed you 2 months ago if you'd said this was coming.

But then again, you could apply that statement to just about anything in the economy...

All looking very good isn't it!

My bet is it'll fluctuate between this and £2.45 for the main part - since that's the historical average and there's not really any good reason for it to stay...

Yeah I couldn't agree more. If you look at the historical charts with the AUD/GBP currencies (or indeed any others!) the moves can be very volatile and you have to move quickly....

Sure you could make money this way. You will be taxed on the dosh as it leaves Australia though (they get you on everything!)

On the other hand, you could speculate on other things too: stocks,...

For what it's worth, the average rate for the past 10 years is $2.50. This past year has been an anomaly so you may well be in luck. I'll cross all my digits for you that you'll get north of...
