Re: Update on my removal of conditions

Thought I would give my final update on this case - apparently my file went across the country twice. I received my 10yr GC yesterday - a full 10 months after approval.

Re: Moving to the mountains

I dont have the energy for the whole thread, but you should look into Seattle, there is a huge IT industry there, and if I remember correctly its pretty close to Baker. I personally live in...

Update on my removal of conditions

Hi all,

Just thought I would post this update - if anyone cares!

I will spare the whole story, as you can probably search for it on here.

The skinny version

Unfortunately had a very short...

Re: Removal of Conditions of Resident

Ah yes, the good old alerts.

I was subscribed to both text and email alerts for any notifications on my case - just to ensure I didnt miss anything.

Of course, if you go online, my original...

Re: Removal of Conditions of Resident

Haha!

And Noorah, I totally agree with your statement.

Really I am just venting my frustration here, because there is no other way/channels to do so, not even a course of appeal.

Re: Removal of Conditions of Resident

I would emphasize the word "normal" Ian, I understand hard copies have to be sent, but it wouldn't take much to send them via recorded delivery. In fact, I am sure you would be hard pressed to find...

Re: Removal of Conditions of Resident

This frustrates the hell out of me. Why are uscis sending life altering documents by normal post. I would happily pay an extra 10 bucks per application for it to be sent recorded delivery. My...

Re: Track Your USCIS Mail

I agree, I am just a little frustrated that's all. I have been to Immigration Court twice already (at $750 a time on top of my IL fees), and in grand scheme of things, my case seems a little...

Re: Track Your USCIS Mail

Unbelievable.

Maybe they should use some BASIC common sense and apply the same rule to important appointment notices.

Maybe then people who do nothing wrong will not be a) in removal...

Re: Abandonment Help

Like I said, they can still send the mail. Seeing as they DO have more than my address however, surely they would want to make the process as solid as possible. I did follow all of the rules after...

Re: Abandonment Help

Ian, I concur.

Rete, I have to disagree. They can still send any legal paperwork by mail, however as they have many other options of instant communication, all it would take is an email/recorded...

Re: Abandonment Help

An update, if anyone is interested.

Having done extensive research into a good lawyer, I have found one. So far he has been fantastic.

What baffles me the most is that I have to refile my...

Re: Abandonment Help

I wasn't sure whether I would have to go to Boston or not, that is my question. A local Immigration Lawyer is my first priority on Monday for a consultation, then hopefully I should have a better...

Overstay Questions

Hi All,

Looking for a bit of opinion.

Re: Overstayed in 2002/03

Re: Overstayed in 2002/03

I couldn't really care less what you think constitutes good or bad advice on a forum.

Clearly I am not willing to write things on a public forum to back up my evidence either, take it however you...

Re: Overstayed in 2002/03

Very good.

If I were to know people who have overstayed without a ban, which I absolutely dont, It would be pretty stupid of me to write it on a public forum, wouldn't it.

Why would it matter if he declares it or not if its automatic?

Just guessing of course, but I am sure there are people out there who have overstayed for longer than 14 months, gone home, returned...

Re: Overstayed in 2002/03

Not one person on this forum knows for certain you have a 10 year ban.

If you had overstayed in the last couple of years, I would say the chances of a ban are very high. Back further than that,...
