Re: Is it really necessary for an attourney for K1 and 3 visa??

Sound advice, I think. Naturally, London-based lawyers will be more familiar with the US Embassy - London's procedures.

Being a self-centered Californian, I was thinking west coast time...

Re: Is it really necessary for an attourney for K1 and 3 visa??

IMO, if you're going the lawyer route you need to figure out what is important to you. If its cost, US-based lawyers will win out everytime, given the relative weakness of the $ v the £.

While...

Re: Is it really necessary for an attourney for K1 and 3 visa??

In my experience the lawyers at Gudeon & McFadden (http://www.usvisalawyers.co.uk/) and Hodkinson Law Group (http://www.usvisalawgroup.com/) are superb. Also, I would say $4,500 (or £2,250) is...

Re: CR1 Visa received

Thanks for the advice --- I will most certainly do that!

Fortunately, that has already been taken care of. Hubby originally went for the K-3 b/c we didn't know how long the CR-1 would take....

Re: I1-134 question

Maybe we've solved the mystery! Maybe OP's lawyer is working from an older version of the form (hopefully a still excepted version).

Re: I1-134 question

I believe we are talking about Q11.

This makes total sense, I just don't see a reference to temporary in Q11. This is the version...

Re: I1-134 question

P, I've seen you on the forum before but I wasn't sure if you were the USC or the UKC.

I wasn't aware that if a K visa applicant was using the I-134 (rather than self-sponsoring) that the Sponsor...

Re: I1-134 question

I am glad you were approved but I am not sure I understand how this worked. Did you provide other evidence of financial support? Self-sponsor? A job lined up?

Re: varicella vaccine - I130 in London

As you are applying for an IV and won't have to worry about AOS --- it definitely isn't worth giving another thought to!

I believe some K-1 Brits did have to get the Varicella vaccine when they...

Re: CR1 Visa received

I'm not sure how accurate this is but when I called after I heard the *case complete* message, the NVC guy told me they book appointments in London during the second week of the month for the...

Re: Twenty year old conviction---still a problem?

I am sure of the context you read this in. But rest-assured many visa applicants have used their parents-in-law as Joint Sponsors.

Just to clarify you will be the "Sponsor" (you are obligated to...

Re: Use K-3 medical for CR-1?

Thanks, Ian.

It was a good gut feeling. I emailed the Embassy last Friday and they got back today (about 5 minutes after I posted, actually) and said we are okay to use the K-3 medical results...

Re: Has anyone here let a visa lapse then reapplied?

Here it is (http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=549257&highlight=re-entry+permit)

Looks like the OP's financial situation was slightly different, as he was already planning to go to...

Re: Has anyone here let a visa lapse then reapplied?

There was another post with a similar question about 2 weeks ago. Of course, the situation may be slightly different, but I remember Mr. F saying *don't be difficult* just get the re-entry permit! ...

Re: DS-230 Questions (Could be dumb ones)

You can send them in separately.

However, IMO, if you're in a big rush to get the visa, it is safe to send in the DS-2001 as long as you anticipate receiving all of the paperwork you need before...

Use K-3 medical for CR-1?

I know this is a bit of a niche question as it seems most K-3 visa holders do not process their CR-1s/IR-1s through the Embassy which approved their K-3. However, in the event that anyone has been...

Re: Twenty year old conviction---still a problem?

I will let someone more knowledgable give a more complete answer. But, IMO, you're on the right track with regards to the waiver. He will certainly need one, as this information does need to be...

Re: Credit Card charge after I-130 approval

The fee should have been charged when you submitted the I-130 not when it was approved, as the fee is for filling not approval.

Others on the forum have mentioned their CCs were charged, on or...

Re: I-212 Help please hubby had been deported

Agreed. IMO, waivers are best dealt with by US Immigration Lawyers. Many on this forum have posted the same. There are also a few posts referring good US Immigration, Waiver specialists.
