Re: Moving to Germany, for Fun?

Berlin is not the best place from an econmic perspective, to be honest.

However, there do always tend to be jobs available in places like McDonalds, which it's possible to supplement with English...

Re: Learning French

I'm thinking of learning French, so these answers have been useful to me too.

My real bug bare though is German. Would the Goethe Institute be the equivalent of Alliance Francaise? And is it any...

Re: Accents in Germany

It seems to me that my friends who speak high German seem fine communicating everywhere. I, on the otherhand, seem stuck everywhere.

The only exception to this seems to be Switzerland, where...

Re: Germany or US?

Anyway, sorry if I bumped too many posts up; I just found it hard to locate stuff about Germany.

Re: Germany or US?

Re: Germany or US?

Germany's a lovely place. Why not come here first - it requires almost no paperwork. If you hate it, go to the US!

Re: Dreaming of Berlin...

Perhaps this isn't helpful but I can only tell you of my own experience and those of friends.

If you want to do it, just do it. I've known many people who've wanted to come to Germany or elsewhere...

Re: Can I live in any EU country?

I've found that, when you live in another EU country, it's very easy to stay under the radar, if you have an EU passport.

I wouldn't worry about tax for a second - they won't even noticed you were...

Re: Working in Germany

If you've got a degree, there's always bits of work available from the language schools - Linguarama, Inlingua etc. If no degree, try McDonalds and Burger King; the money isn't bad and I've know...
