Not true-- and both of my parents were born in Barbados and married when I was born. All circumstances are different.

Mine has taken 2+ yrs as well b/c of discrepancies on my mother's paperwork...

You are correct. In the plainest sense, dual citizenship implies that you are not only a citizens of two countries, but also that you can travel on documents from either country.
