Re: BUNAC Conversions

The process itself is fairly straightforward, as long as you take it step by step and follow all the guides and double check everything. A TWP/LMO even easier now it's mostly all online.

Re: BUNAC to Visitor Status

At my BUNAC meeting in Vancouver we were told we "were able to stay" as a visitor for upto 6 months. What that actually entails I'm not quite sure, I personally did not like the idea of "staying"...

Re: Canadian Exp. Class useless for Intnl. studs

It's allllllll politics. "Look, we're addressing the immigration problem, look at this shiny new immigration stream we created"

Doesn't really seem to aid anyone in need of help or who could...

Re: BUNAC changes

I went the BUNAC route, fell in love with my Canadian partner and the country itself and now have fallen foul of the state of the country's immigration policies. It's ridiculous. I'm young, been in...

Re: HRSDC LMO Timeline

Yeah I know what you're saying. Been over 4 months now and not even a word (apparently) from my employer or HRSDC. Starting to get a little nervous now. I don't even trust that my employer did...

Re: Jamie Oliver - & his Chickens???

On Channel 4 of course!!! Long been the nation's favourite channel of controversy and boundary-pushing!

Coincidence they have the best programmes on? Probably not.

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

Ouch?!

Gotta say I like Keegan... purely from an "entertaining interview and gung-ho football" point of view!!!

Least he's experienced and loves the club undoubtedly. Tough matches them though!...

Re: Marrying in Canada

I too landed in Calgary on a one-way ticket, as I intended to stay until all my money was used up visiting friends I made previously on my BUNAC year there. This, apparently, was not good.

I got...

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

Yer, what can I say, Sunderland played their hearts out and we rolled over like a dead dog.

Sunderland only lost at home 3 times this season, that's not a bad record for such a "poor" team.

Re: How do you change cv to resumee?

A resume begins with a summary of achievements and qualifications, whereas a CV usually begins with education history (following personal details).

This summary area of the resume is where you...

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

Tbh I think it was the backlash from the Geordies and his Missus wanting to stay in Sandbanks that swung it all!!!

In all seriousness, who's going to take this job who's English?

Re: Jamie Oliver - & his Chickens???

Yeah this all about people pleading ignorance and "not wanting to know" where their food comes from. I for one am glad that it's being shoved in the publics face and is the issue of the moment.

If...

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

Oh wait! Would you look at that, he's going nowhere. Like I said! Even with bookies giving ya 1/4!

Hope you like Mark Hughes? =)

Why's Redknapp bitching about lack of funds when he's just stuck...

Re: How do you change cv to resumee?

I personally prefer the resume style to the CV style and found British employers don't really care on the layout. I've had equal, if not more response upon my return to the UK using a "resume" than...

Yeah, all great advice!

As mentioned above the BUNAC scheme entitles you to work for anybody as you receive an open work-permit. Like gold dust they are! It's all fast-tracked too, as is your SIN...

Re: The Toon Army / EPL thread

Why the hell would Redknapp goto 'Toon?

He's lived at Sandbanks in a gorgeous house for ages now with his missus and dogs, close to both London and Pompey. We're flying high(-er than Newcastle)...

Re: PLEASE HELP A NEWBIE MOVING TO CALGARY

I support the Flames (whenever I support an ice hockey team, hard to do from the UK!) as that's my second home; the city I've lived in before and where I intend to live in the future.

Much like I...
