Dave the charges are for customs doing the check of the boxes x-rays etc and it's charges per hour. PSS said this could come to $1500-1800 CAD but depends on the quantity they are searching.

We've just had a couple of shipping companies over and have put the scare in me. Elite shipping have given a excellent quote of £2100 to ship from Kent to Edmonton but we'll pack everthing...

Sadly the equity is tied up with the house, so we not be taking that with us initially but I have secured a job which pays in that ball park figure. So from the sounds of it things maybe tight.

I'm almost certain that the packing material is not provided. Luckly I have a family member that works for Bishopsmove who can get it for free :)

Yep. 20" was 3000 USD and 40" 4000 USD. Basically you have to load the container, you have 3 hours after which each hour is £40 (i think) and also look after customs at the other end.
