Got a UK Pension and want to move it here before it starts

Just a quick info piece for anyone who has worked in the UK and moved to Canada. If you have a pension there it is possible to move it over to Canada so as not to suffer the exchange rate changes...

generally speaking you are classed as a resident for tax purposes the moment you arrive unless you can prove otherwise. there is a very broad base for them to use at the CRA to consider you resident...
