Re: Social Security Number Issuance Question

Thanks for all the answers everyone! We'll get down there and see what we can sort out. As for companies asking for the SSN upfront, I don't agree with it, and I think it's stupid. Afterall, he...

Exclamation Social Security Number Issuance Question

First of all, I just wanted to let everyone know that after nearly a year and a half of hell, my husband is here with me in the United States! One of these days I'll take the time to make a little...

Re: Sydney Interview Given!

Do you know if you're allowed to pick it up in-person at the Embassy rather than waiting for it to be mailed?

Re: NVC "Missing" Documents

Yes. I have. I have suffered terribly from it since I was 9 years old.

However, when my big brother passed away a few years ago, I realized the routines I did to try and control things (If I...

Re: NVC "Missing" Documents

Thank you. I'm just trying to figure out where the hell to start with a lawyer, and what I could get him/her to provide us with that would be of help.

We've already talked to the Procurator...

Re: NVC "Missing" Documents

Yeah, that's what's frustrating. We've been told, "We just collect the paperwork." So when I asked about the fact that there was no court record and whether that would cause problems and hold our...

Re: NVC "Missing" Documents

Thank you, fatbrit, for your advice. If your comment about our situation is general (you'd recommend anyone in our situation to get a lawyer), I appreciate it. If your comment is directed...

Re: Biting our nails...Please help!

I guess I'm just not good at letting things lie. Especially when not doing so would provide a great form of procrastination for a paper I'm writing. I just realized that it's normal business hours...

Re: London - still no interview date - is this normal?

I just noticed you made the correction. I read it and thought, "Hmmmm, everyone should follow the advice I get, eh?" Haha.

Re: Biting our nails...Please help!

I could probably live in LA if I could live in Los Feliz. I love Los Feliz. Not a Trojan fan, eh? :sneaky: I just can't catch a break! :(

Re: Biting our nails...Please help!

Hi again,

I know you said this post was off topic, but it completely baffled me. So if the Consular Officer at the Embassy when he has his interview says no waiver is needed and issues his visa,...

Re: Biting our nails...Please help!

The only "record" we have and that supposedly exists to the Scottish government is the police certificate itself. That makes no mention of summary or solemn...

Re: Biting our nails...Please help!

HA! I wish. When we asked for a letter or something written saying he wasn't in their record or that they couldn't find a record, we're were told, "It's not our policy to issue written statements." ...

Re: Biting our nails...Please help!

According to the Procurator Fiscal, he is not in their system, so no record should exist and nothing should show on his certificate. According to the Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, what's on his...

Re: Biting our nails...Please help!

I find it worth responding to when someone calls my husband something he's not. There's no need, whatsoever, for comments like that. It's rude, hurtful, unwarranted, and completely unnecessary. So...

Re: Biting our nails...Please help!

I got that information from the Fife Constabulary as well, Ray. So I guess we just have to find someone more helpful in tracking down the actual record than the help we've gotten from the Procurator...

Folinskyinla, it was not you at all that I was talking about. It was the people making jokes and calling my husband a thieving bastard. I thank you very much for your advice.

Time from Submitting Papers to NVC to Sydney Interview?

Can anyone from Australia that's done an I-130 recently tell me how long you waited after submitting your DS-230 and supporting documents to the NVC before you got an interview date in Sydney?

Re: London - still no interview date - is this normal?

Haha! Thanks for clearing that up. So I guess the other person did a DCF? I should be okay then, right? Everything all in order by just submitting the documents along with my DS-230?
