as soon as you get the visa, but I've heard about 3 months prior as well.

NS is a lot cheaper to buy a home, but the jobs don't pay as well as AB and BC - I LOVE NS!

you should check the CIC website to find out what is the 'normal' wait period and if you are over that period than you should contact them.

Yes, you can drive here for 3 or 6 months (can't remember for sure if it's 3 or 6) before you get your new DL. Not sure about buying a car, but I'd guess that you can.
