A person doesn't have to be an Australian Citizen to complete a Form 888, they can also complete a Form 888 if they are a permanent resident or eligible New Zealand Citizen,

The most important thing is that you keep Immigration updated on ALL changes to your circumstances which would definitely include changing your name and getting a new passport.

That advice is correct and you would also need to make sure that your tourist visa did not have a no further stay condition but this would be unlikely if you applied for an ETA visa as a UK passport...

Hi Brian,

Really it depends on your personal situation/preference.

I usually advise my clients to apply for PR if they are eligible to as soon as possible as nobody ever knows what changes...
