Anyway...I am not a mad patriotic Aussie..this forum is a great way to while away time especially if a bit of an insomniac.
I tell my kids that oz is good place but if they want to go elsewhere...

Funnily when I confronted my mother I told her I had coffee at St Mary's, about as Bogan as it gets, and I prefered it her beloved Europe.
Actually I don't mind Bogans-although I wouldnt live too...

And another thing and this is really true-My own wife is a continental European (French) and was a professor of mathematics(rare for a female btw) and was quite "high up in her profession" - I too am...

Another point no-one has brought up...most of the points that the Oz bashers bring up to bag Australia and show the UK to a better place would apply to places like India or Russia, two undisputed...

I agree the UK has Europes prettiest countryside and the Scottish Highlands is probably the most awesome landscape in Europe. The UK is still a horrible place despite that.
