You can definitely deduct expenses if you let a property, whether owned as a person or as a company - makes no difference. That includes buying and selling costs and flights home to sort it out. But...

You can definitely run up a lot of expenses to reduce your tax bill! Do you still get a UK personal tax allowance if you're no longer a UK resident? I was told you don't. Suspect I need to clarify...
