Yes. you do pay taxes and as far as I know anybody on a 457 is classified as resident for tax purposes. Search for LAFHA in this forum / web and you'll get a whole lot of info. Thats an allowence you...

ANZ gives cards to people on 457. "ANZ first" is the card name. I had a credit limit of 5000 when I was on 457. Did u try them?

Thats great news. I was looking to go to NZ next week to validate. I was kind of worried what i'd do if I actually go off to NZ and if the comms didnt make it to aukland embassy. i'll try giving DIAC...

Any ideas if the 3 year temp residency(457) would still count towards the 4 year period after 2010?
My situation is that I've been working here in aus for about 5 years now and will be validating...
