Many thanks - I put my spouse visa number in and it doesn't recognise it....looks like I've seriously cocked up. I guess all I can do is try and contact them and see what my options are. Thanks again.

Oh no - I did not realise that...I thought I had to be there within the five years or I would need another visa? I am really confused now.

My spouse visa was issued in 2007 so expired in 2012....am hopeful that I might be eligible for a Return Resident visa but will explore more. Many thanks!

Yes he has a British passport as he was born here!

Think I'm going to have to ring the aus commission to find out what kind of visa I would need to apply for

Hi BritinParis - I went on a visitor visa this time..although that in itself was a drama...didn't realise until the night before we flew that we needed tourist visas...and our twin boys didn't come...

thought I had better post an update on here as I started the thread originally many moons ago!

OH and I had planned to be in Brisbane by early 2008, then it got pushed back, OH got a job starting...

hi shiels - no he doesnt have to take it, its just really useful because they pay for flights and 3 weeks accommodation when you get there which would of course be a great help.....anyway we will...

OH has been offered a job in Brisbane - so we fully appreciate that we are in a much stronger position than so many people...

not sure sloane - but I left it a month from when I had medical to when I sent it and all was well so I'm sure they would keep hold of it?

I am confused as to why you think that you would have to send your app to Berlin - there is an embassy in Brussels if you are in Belgium and if you go to the immigration website and go to the section...

THere is a list of panel doctors on the immigration website. Pick the one nearest to you, ring them and make an appointment - you will also need to make an appointment for a chest x ray - this info...

Re the spouse proof - I would just send the certified copy of the passport. I sent my OH's citizenship cert...
