I am ex RAF (airframe Tech) and left after 24 years and came to Canada 3 years ago.

I intended to work in aviation but it took 6 months to break into the industry and then the pay was pitiful....

I declared to Revenue Canada the amount I received in the UK after tax and also stated the tax I paid to the UK Inland Revenue Service. Revenue Canada sent me a bill for tax I owed them plus interest...

This is my experience. It has actually been more than 2 years as it takes time for the Inland Revenue to resolve the UK tax issue once the paper work is received. You do get all the UK tax refunded...
