Possibly but overall, as Vash said, quality of life is better. Not a valid argument I know but I'm knackered and not had enough caffine today.

From all accounts, all surveys, statistics etc the cost of living in the UK is higher that the cost of living in Australia.

You can't just compare the cost of a loaf of bread and a tub of yoghurt...

I'm going back 6 years and it used to be around $1,500. No idea what it would be now but unless LPG has gone up to a buck a litre it is still the cheapest and cleanest way to go.

But my shipping company - Anglo Pacific - have their own Marine Insurance. The 3% premium was for Liability Insurance i.e. if the ship sinks.

The UK supermarket model is not unique - its just like the US.

Yes they have strong purchasing power which is why they sell everything from books to butter and almost below cost. Who suffers...
