Re: I765 processing regulations: for Folinskyinla

Thanks, for your replies. I located the regulation that stipulates that DHS must issue an interim EAD if the application has not been adjudicated after 90 days, its 8 CFR 274a.13(d), and I know that...

Re: I765 processing regulations: for Folinskyinla

oops, sorry, I was just panic posting because I was so frustrated with my congresswoman's staff. Moderators, could you remove or edit my post if possible. Thanks

I765 processing regulations

I've noticed you mention a few times now that the law and regulations give DHS 90 days to process I765. I have been told my my congresswoman's immigration counsel that there is no guarantee and that...

Re: Background Check

If only it were that simple. Unfortunately the formula that tells you whether or not you will be delayed by namecheck is far more complicated.

Re: Renewal EAD...

Sanna, let us know how your infopass goes. I have mine next Tuesday which will be day 91 for me. I'm hoping they're not too difficult about it.

Re: Anything else I could do to push through I765?

I think that depends on the status through which you are requesting the card. Unfortunately for us, marriage based cases, I think you are right.

Re: Why did my case go to the Missouri Sevice Center?

MSC is also known as the National Benefits Center. A lot of initial processing is now done there. As Rene said they will also process the I131 and I765.

Re: when once should renew EAD

I would say a minimum of 4 months. I have heard that if you apply early they are dating the new card to start at the end of the old one which means it costs you nothing to apply earlier. Maybe...

Re: Anything else I could do to push through I765?

Going back to the original topic I have just seen a post on another board by a guy who had his paper filed I765 processed on the same day as the receipt date at CSC so if you want a quick processing...

Re: Medical cost question

Thats interesting because I had my tetanus immunization when I was a teenager and still came up negative in the test. Also, it looks like I got well and truly ripped off. I paid more than $500 in...

Re: Anything else I could do to push through I765?

Unfortunately my SS card says "valid for work only with INS authorization" so at the end of the day I think the EAD is the only document I have access to which can verify my eligibility to work. The...

Re: Anything else I could do to push through I765?

Ian, I'm assuming that until the new EAD is approved I am technically not permitted to work, would that be correct? If not, what other documentation might I be able to use to prove my status? I have...

Re: Renewal EAD...

Probably an obvious point but make sure when you get an appointment that it is actually more than 90 days since your receipt date, you're somewhere in the 80s at the moment by my atrocious maths.

Re: Anything else I could do to push through I765?

I'm pretty sure you're right. I just asked them because last year the card came about two weeks after the approval email and the start date of the EAD was actually a further week before that. As I'm...

Re: Anything else I could do to push through I765?

They told me that without the EAD they were not legally allowed to employ me. I went into it in some detail with them as I am hoping to be able to go back with just the approval email from CIS when...

Re: AP needed in two months

I agree that its unlikely you will get an emergency AP for a business trip but do not despair. I e-filed for AP on 9/14 and my application went to CSC. The processing dates at the time said June I...

Re: Pending AOS, biometrics, and change of DOs

Remember that there are two things to do regarding change of address. The AR-11 must be filed within 10 days but you also need to separately change the address on any pending case by either calling...

Re: Anything else I could do to push through I765?

Just wanted to add my personal experience to the discussion. I have been without a valid EAD since 12/15. My receipt date for my application is 10/31. Both the district office and the helpline have...

Re: i-485 question

If it was me I would file it. There are far too many of us here who thought AoS would be a cakewalk only to get stuck waiting. What I've learned with CIS is that it's always better to have belt and...
