how long for police checks

hi does anyone know how long police checks in uk are taking at the moment my mother in law applied for hers 6 weeks ago and hasent heard anything yet,

has anyone used or even heard of agencies that will provide assurance of support shortfalls in income,

hi we are in the same position, catch 22, came to oz for an easeier lifestyle and now find out we needed to work longer hours to reach the required level for ceterlink.
