Actually as a side note to unemployment insurance.

If you are coming from Canada and are currently collecting EI benefits, you can collect EI benefits once you receive your EAD. The benefit will...

Re: Credit with the new Social Security Number

Another tip: If you have an AMEX card, their global card transfer service (http://www.americanexpress.com/globaltransfers/global_card_transfer_us_en.shtml) is wonderful.

When I used them, I had...

Re: Are official K1 processing times accurate?

Oh yes, I renewed my passport last November. They require you to show your GC as proof of non-naturalization.

Wink Re: Are official K1 processing times accurate?

The whole K-1 process for us was a warp speed process, I don't why we were so lucky. We went from K-1 to GC in slightly over 369 Days. We got a few good breaks that are no longer available, local...

Re: OT: "Who Wants to Marry a US Citizen?" game show

I don't know about the show, but it sounds stupid.

However I can see some challenges in some of the episodes:

1) Successfully explain the difference between N/A and Not Applicable :D

or

Re: Newly Married - Adivce and Anxiety Relief Needed

I can highly recommended this. I used their Global Card Services transfer option and work amazingly well. My score went from near 0 to the 700s.

As for waiting time, prepare for the worst, hope...

Re: Setting out on the K-1 process

But if you get married, couldn't you get indefinite leave to remain in the UK. (I've read this can be done relatively faster than in the US). At this point the fact you are a student would become...

Re: What to expect at the Interview

I had mine in Vancouver, the interviewer ask the usual how met, etc.
How often did I visit, photos, etc. In my case they also asked to see my L-1 NOA, in addition to the K-1 stuff. As I worked...

Re: Temp EAD Stamp at JFK

Old Info:
IIRC the code for the 90 day is A(6) if you were to submit the EAD form. This what I did when Boston used to process same-day EADs in 2003(has it been that long). I was lucky enough to get...

Re: Temp EAD Stamp at JFK

If you are going to work on the basis of the interim EAD, you should file for AOS sooner than later(completing the required steps of course:D).

AFAIK, The 90-day EAD is a different EAD...

Re: Permanent Resident card in my hand...but I have to send it back!

Saw the end of...

Re: what's my status?

Perhaps temporary residents could be considered the H-1B/L-1 spouse of a worker(i.e. someone who can't work but can in the US), somone who has TPS status.

Re: Can any one shed light on removing conditions on one's residency!

Exactly, all more reason to go to the SS-Office as you receive either your I-551 stamp or the temp green card. If you leave it for a while you can forget about and when you the unrestricred SS card...

Re: I-94 and Ban

For about 2 years, I travelled regularly between the US and Canada on an L-1. I always had to give the i-94, I was never asked. (Also as I was using the INSPASS program, my I-94's looked like an ATM...

Re: Applying for my wife, I have green card

Actually wouldn't it make sense to apply before the fees go up. Once the poster has citizenship, AFAIK"upgrading the application" is free.

Therefore in this case, apply now.

Re: K-1 Visa Expiry Question

AFAIK The Waiver in VWP, means you are asking for a waiver from a B2 visitors visa. Inside the US, VWP program doesn't have a separate status, you have B2 status.

In my original response about...
