Your other option is to use a PEO such as TriNet. They will handle all your payroll, file your federal/state employment taxes, and handle your healthcare. You can even set up a 401K.

Not if you go back to the UK for a full year - that resets the visa clock. Doesn't matter if it's L1-A or L1-B.

No stimulus check for us!! In fact, no stimulus check for anyone who files joint tax return with a partner who doesn't have a social security number!!! :mad:

For us 11 months: EBB-2, PERM started in April 2007, application submitted early August 2007 (along with the world and his brother!!), receipt received in late November 2007, biometrics in December...

We renewed our H1B/H4 visas in Canada just before Christmas. The only difficult part was getting an appointment: they only book 6 weeks in advance and the appointments go very quickly. Be careful...

I got a contract phone from verizon when I first moved here 5 years ago. No SSN, no credit record: had to pay a $400 deposit which I got back after a year - with interest!!!!!!!!!!!
